Solomon Islands Airlifts Flood Relief Supplies from Honiara

2nd May, 2012: On Wednesday morning, the Fiji Honorary Consul in Solomon Island, Mr.  Atueta Balekana  handed  over  Flood Relief Supplies  to  the Export  Officer  of Solomon  Airlines  Mr.  Napthalae Abana.

The supplies, consisting of 12 cartons of clothes weighing 279kg, were collected through one week Flood Appeal in Honiara, which was coordinated by the Honorary Consul and Fijian community in Solomon Islands.

Honorary Consul  Atueta  Balekana,  on behalf  of  the  Government  and People of  Fiji  thanked  the  people  of  Solomon Islands  for  their  kind donations and Solomon Airlines for their act of kindness in air freighting the donations Free of Charge (FOC) to Fiji.
The supplies will be Fiji-bound on the Solomon Airlines flight IE702 arriving at Nadi 10 am, Thursday 3rd May 2012.

The Relief Supplies is in addition to the SI$41,000 (F$10,000) collected last Saturday 28th   April, 2012, which has been deposited to the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Account in Fiji earlier this week through BSP, Honiara.
