8th October 2011, Suva: The Minister for Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, opened the second Diplomatic Tennis Tournament at the Victoria Tennis Court on Saturday 8th October, 2011.
The tournament started in 2010, was hosted by the Indonesian Embassy in conjunction with their national day celebration.
Welcoming the Minister, Indonesian Ambassador, H.E. Aidil Chandra Salim observed that the spirit of sportsmanship amongst the participants seemed to enlighten the tournament.
"It's very good to take time off from office work and come outdoors and get involved in sports because it's good for health and fitness", says the Indonesian ambassador.
In his remarks Ratu Inoke commended the Indonesian Embassy for organising the event.He said the event brings diplomats together and compliments well the recently concluded mini olympics.
The tournament an annual event, was open to government officials, diplomatic corps, NGO's, International organisations and was played in men's and mixed doubles categories.
