Foreign Minister Kubuabola Meets Swiss Ambassador Krupski

Minister_Kubuabola_with_Swiss_Ambassador_Ms__Krupski11 October 2011: Minister Kubuabola met with the Swiss Ambassador, Her Excellency Marion Weichelt Krupski of the Switzerland Embassy in Wellington to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Krupski expressed Switzerland’s appreciation for the election of Fiji’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations H.E. Mr. Peter Thomson, as the Vice President of the 66th Session of the UNGA.

Minister Kubuabola and Her Excellency took the opportunity to discuss bilateral relations on Fiji’s foreign policy priorities and its progress towards democracy in 2014. They also took the time out in discussing future bilateral agreements between the two countries including Switzerland’s possible assistance to Fiji’s electoral reform.

On regional issues, Ambassador Krupski informed Minister Kubuabola of Switzerland’s assistance to the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme for Pacific Island Countries with efforts to minimize the effects of Climate Change.
