7th September 2011, Suva: Today a Delegation comprising senior Vanuatu defense officials paid a courtesy call on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation.
The Vanuatu Defense Delegation comprised: His Excellency Kanam Naplaui Ambassador Designate Vanuatu High Commission; Major Karl Bongran Chief of Staff Vanuatu Military Force; SP. Willie Benkalo MSG Interim Police Liaison Officer Vanuatu Police Force; John Aphraim Internal Affairs Officer Defense; John Collwick Manager Finance Vanuatu Police Force.
Receiving the delegation was the Deputy Secretary (Political & Treaties) Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation Mr. Sila Balawa.
In welcoming the delegation Mr Balawa paid tribute to the warm relations between the two countries and expressed the hope that this will be further strengthened as a result of the delegations visit.
In his comments Major Karl Bongran Chief of Staff Vanuatu Military Force explained that the visit follows previous discussions between senior security officials of the two countries and expressed his delegations appreciation for the opportunity to further progress areas of cooperation already agreed upon.
The delegation is scheduled to meet other senior Fiji government officials during their visit.
