05 August 2011, Port Moresby: Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ratu Inoke Kubuabola arrived in Port Moresby this morning to attend the Pacific ACP Trade Ministers Meeting, which will meet in the coming week to discuss and determine the way forward on PACP matters, including the issue of progress of negotiations for a regional Economic Partnership Agreement with the European Union. Also attending this meeting to give their advice on EU matters are the PACP Ambassadors to the European Union based in Brussels.
Minister Kubuabola met briefly with the Honourable Peter O'Neil, newly appointed Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea to congratulate him on his recent appointment. Minister Kubuabola will have an opportunity to discuss bilateral matters with Prime Minister O'Neil at a meeting on Monday 8th August 2011.
Fiji's delegation to this meeting, led by Minister Kubuabola, include the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mr. Solo Mara, Deputy Secretary (Economics) Mr. Shaheen Ali, Director for Trade Mrs. Sovaia Marawa, and Acting Senior Economic Planning Officer Ms. Radika Kumar, supported by High Commissioner to PNG H.E. Niumaia Tabunakawai and Mr. Vilitati Mataitini.
