Ambassador Cavuilati Presents Credentials to Indonesian President


8th June 2011, Jakarta, Indonesia: This morning Fiji’s Ambassador to Indonesia Ratu Tui Cavuilati presented his credentials to the President of Indonesia His Excellency President Susilo Yudhoyono at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The presentation follows the establishment and opening of our Embassy in Indonesia on 6th April 2011 by Prime Minister Bainimarama.

Ambassador Cavuilati was among a group of six Ambassadors from Afghanistan, and Japan, the Holy See, Republic of Korea and Viet Nam.

The ceremony started with the playing of the National Anthems one by one for each of the Ambassadors then the presentation as a group one after another. The Ambassadors were then introduced to the Indonesian Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, attending Indonesia Government Ministers and Senior 0fficials of the Indonesian Cabinet, Presidential Palace and Ministry of Foreign Affairs before a brief chat and tea with HE the President.

During the ceremonies Ambassador Cavuilati conveyed President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau and Prime Minister Bainimarama’s well wishes. Ambassador Cavuilati also thanked the Indonesian Government for the opening of the Fiji Mission, their understanding of Fiji's situation and support for ongoing reforms and current situation in our bilateral relations and expressed the hope to build on ongoing arrangements to enhance our friendship and relations.
