Budapest, Hungary, 14 May 2011: Minister for Foreign Affairs Ratu Inoke Kubuabola met with the Secretary-General of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States, Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas, in the margins of the ACP Parliamentary Assembly held in Budapest, Hungary on 13 May 2011.

Minister Kubuabola and the Secretary-General discussed Pacific APC matters, including the Secretary-General’s participation in the PACP meetings in Port Vila in 2010, and the full participation of Fiji in PACP meetings, including the PACP Leaders meeting to be held in September 2011.

Minister Kubuabola had earlier intervened during the ACP Parliamentary Assembly to reiterate Fiji’s desire to welcome a Joint ACP-EP Parliamentary Assembly mission to Fiji in 2012 or early 2013 to assess the situation on the ground in the context of discussions with Fiji’s authorities on Fiji’s Roadmap to Democracy.
