A Better Fiji through Excellence in Foreign Service
HE Ms Tania TUPOU, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Tonga called on HE Mr Isikeli Mataitoga at the Embassy of the Republic of Fiji on Wednesday 17 October 2012. The call was to pay courtesy and also seek advise from Ambassador Mataitoga on mission issues that may be useful to Tonga as they set up their new diplomatic mission in Tokyo. HE Ms Tania TUPOU, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Tonga to Japan with Ambassador Mataitoga Fiji/Tonga bilateral relations extend well beyond the normal diplomatic arena, given the very close personal, cultural and historical connections between the two countries and its people. In that context Ambassador Mataitoga was more than happy to provide assistance both in terms of advise and in other ways if needed. This first meeting will be followed by regular meetings, as both Ambassadors agree to consult regularly and to learn from each other on the work they have to do for their respective countries. Ambassador Mataitoga advised Ambassador Tupou to also call on the other Pacific Islands Ambassadors in Tokyo and to also join their regular meetings. Fiji Embassy, Tokyo
