Minister Kubuabola meets with Turkish Ambassador Ersan

This morning with Special Envoy from Republic of Turkey HE Ambassador Atilay Ersan

29 November 2012:  Fiji’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Ratu Inoke Kubuabola met today with His Excellency Ambassador Atilay Ersan from the Republic of Turkey.

At the outset, H.E. Ambassador Ersan conveyed the support of the Government of Turkey to the Government of Fiji in key areas of trade, development and international cooperation.  Some of the prominent areas of engagement from the Government of Turkey as mentioned by H.E. Ersan include investment in capital projects and capacity building for young career diplomats.

H.E. Ambassador Ersan also articulated the gratitude of the Government of Turkey to the Government of Fiji for its earlier support on Turkey’s candidature for the United Nations Security Council.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation also expressed his sincere gratitude to the Government of Turkey for the successful development of the Rural Electrification project in Vanua Levu and on the same note welcomed similar continuous expansive assistance from the Government of Turkey on a bilateral basis.

H.E. Ambassador Esran will also be meeting with H.E. President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau and Acting Prime Minister Mr Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum tomorrow for further discussions on the Government of Turkey’s engagement with Fiji prior to his departure to Vanuatu.
