6th December 2012: This afternoon the Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Minister for Public Works, Transport and Public Utilities Captain Timoci Natuva visited the Indian High Commission in Suva to pay his respects and sign the Condolence Book for the former Prime Minster of India Mr I.K. Gujral who passed away in India on Friday 30th November 2012.

Minister Natuva was accompanied by the Acting Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Permanent Secretary for Youth and Sports Mr. Josefa Sania.

The Condolence Book was opened by the Indian High Commission from yesterday Wednesday 5th December 2012 and will close today Thursday 6th December at 5.30pm.Mr Gujral was the 12th PM for India from April 1997 to March 1998.

In his condolence message, Mr. Natuva expressed his deepest and heartfelt condolences,“on the passing away of one of India’s visionary and illustrious sons, former Prime Minister I.K. Gujral, whose legacies will be sourly missed particularly by the people of India and the Asia-Pacific Region.”

He went on to say, “May God grant his bereaved family members and all of us the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May God grant his soul eternal rest.”
