Prime Minister Congratulates Japan Counterpart

28th December 2012: Fijian Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has presented a congratulatory message to His Excellency Honorable Shinzo Abe, on his recent electoral victory as the new Prime Minister of Japan.

Prime Minister Bainimarama extended his sincere congratulations and compliments to Prime Minister Abe on the impressive victory in Japan’s recent House of Representatives elections held on the 16th of December, 2012.

“I sincerely wish you every success in taking on your new responsibilities as Prime Minister and in ensuring the well-being, security and peace of the people of Japan,” Prime Minister Bainimarama said.

In his message, Prime Minister Bainimarama highlighted that the magnitude of the electorate support that Prime Minister Abe and his political party received from the voters of Japan is a testament to their confidence in him personally and the policies of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan.  

Fiji and Japan’s recent efforts to deepen bilateral efforts have been evident through the continuous dialogue between senior government officials from the two countries and the close people to people contacts.

“I strongly hope and believe that co-operation between Fiji and Japan, under your leadership will be further developed in a constructive and mutually beneficial way”.

“Fiji is ready to explore common efforts with Japan, which will help overcome all the challenges we face together in our bilateral relations and in the international arena,” Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said.
