Canberra High Commission for the needy

The Fiji Mission in Canberra recently shared in the Spirit of Christmas by wrapping Christmas gifts for the needy and local charities in Canberra.

The staff and families of the High Commission assisted Canberra NGO Communities at work- Care & Share volunteers wrap Christmas gifts for the less fortunate. Community at Work - Care&Share program provides food and essential services to individuals and families in Canberra who are experiencing hardship.

Together the two entities wrapped 200 gifts that will eventually reach the needy and brighten up their smiles this Christmas.

Acting High Commissioner, Cheryl Brown – Irava says ” “We value productive partnerships with organizations and individuals to undertake community projects, strengthen connections between people and promote a sustainable future. This is our small way of giving something back to the community which continues to be so nurturing of many Fijians”.

Community Liaison & Intake Supervisor, Ms Heidi D'Elboux said, “The assistance of staff from the Fiji High Commission in this initiative is very much appreciated as demand for assistance in all areas of the program are at all-time highs.
