Fiji To Enhance Bilateral Relation With Brazil
BRASILIA- Fiji is set to expand its bilateral relation and cooperation with and Brazil after a Memorandum of Understanding on political consultation was signed in Brasilia this week.
Fiji's Ambassador to Brazil Cama Tuiloma signed the MOU with Brazilian's Minister for External Relations Luiz Figueiredo.
The signing of the MOU is another milestone for the Fijian Government and particularly for the Mission in Brazil in its endeavor to sign off on the remaining two General Agreements to progress cooperation and relations with the Brazilian Government.
Ambassador Tuiloma congratulated Minister Figueiredo and conveyed that the Fijian Government was looking to forward to closer engagement and friendship with Brazil.
The MOU is to develop a dialogue mechanism to enhance and expand bilateral relations and cooperation between Fiji and Brazil.
In the MOU the two countries will maintain periodic consultations especially on bilateral issues and mechanisms and means to promote and diversify cooperation for their mutual benefits including regional and international matters of common interest.
The MOU is in line with Fiji’s Foreign Policy of enhancing engagement with the international community while complementing initiatives on South-South Cooperation.
