Foreign Secretary meets Singaporean Envoy

19th June 2012, Suva: This morning the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation Mrs. Saipora Mataikabara met the non- resident High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to Fiji HE Mr. Verghese Mathews at the Foreign Ministry in Suva.

Mrs. Mataikabara discussed with High Commissioner Mathews areas of cooperation between Fiji and Singapore. This includes capacity building in climate change, health and trade cooperation.

Foreign_Secretary_Singapore_envoy_meet_in_JunefinalDuring the meeting High Commissioner Mathews reiterated his Governments invitation for the Minister for Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation Ratu Inoke Kubuabola and Mrs. Mataikabara to visit Singapore.

Earlier in the morning the High Commissioner called on the Minister for Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation Ratu Inoke Kubuabola at his Office.

Fiji and Singapore established diplomatic relations on 30th November 1971.
