Prime Minister receives cheque from HE Ambassador Vocea, Ambassador of Fiji Embassy Brussels

18th June, 2012, Nadi: The Prime Minister today received a donation towards PM’s Flood Relief Fund Account from H.E. Ambassador Vocea.  The cash and in kind donations valued at F$30,000 was raised and received by Fiji’s Mission in Brussels over eight weeks, culminating in a fundraising cultural event on 12 May 2012 in Brussels.

Supporters to this cause who participated in the cultural event included the diplomatic community and friends of Fiji in Brussels, and the Fijian diaspora in Germany, The Hague, Paris, Vienna and Cardiff.  Ambassador Vocea, in handing the donation to the Prime Minister, mentioned the generous support and contribution in kind from the Fiji-born British soldiers and families based in Gütersloh, Germany and The Hague.  The consignment of the donated items has been shipped across and will be arriving Fiji in three months.

Prime Minister thanked Ambassador Vocea for the efforts and conveyed his appreciation to the Fijian diaspora in Europe as well as the friends of Fiji who had offered their support to Fiji during these difficult times.
