The meeting with Brig General marks the beginning of joint collaborations between the two Armed Forces, following the signing of the Defense Co-operation Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two Armed Forces in Suva on 10thJune 2014.

Fiji’s resident ambassador to the Unite Arab Emirates, Ambassador Robin Nair said the visit was significant given that they were from a very sophisticated and highly regarded armed force.

“Much would be gained by Fiji from this relationship in terms of assistance towards training, equipment and possible opportunities for Fijians to be recruited into some of the categories of the UAE Armed Forces”.

The delegation arrives at Nausori in a special UAE Armed Forces Flight. They will depart lateron Tuesday evening after a day of meetings.
