Heads of Missions consultation

Suva, November 17, THE heads of the nineteen Fiji Missions around the world have arrived into the country for their annual consultation which begins today.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama will officially open the two day Heads of Mission consultation in Suva this morning.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary Amena Yauvoli said whilst this is an annual meet where all the heads of the missions gather to be briefed of the latest from the ministry as well as in government, this year's Consultations will be a stocktaking preview of Fiji's Roadmap, especially Pillar 11, in terms of the significant milestones Fiji has achieved in enhancing global integration and international relations.

Mr Yauvoli says that as Fiji's representatives abroad, Heads of Missions must be together on this overview if they are to successfully project Fiji's Foreign Policy to the global community that market Fiji's strengths and responsible global and regional citizenship on the one hand, whilst attracting investment and tourism on the other, for the benefit of all Fijians.

Being the first consultation after the September elections makes it an opportunity to chart new waters and attract newer partners that will help Fiji enhance its international image.
.
During these two day meet, the Heads of Missions will discuss among other important issues Fiji's Foreign Policy Statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Strategic Plan for 2015 to 2020 and the New Policy Direction for the Ministry.
