Minister Kubuabola meets ADB chief

Suva, Fiji- Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon Ratu Inoke Kubuabola today met with Asian Development Bank president Mr Takehiko Nakao in Suva.

 

Minister Kubuabola and Mr Nakao discussed issues including ADB's assistance to Fiji ranging from the transportation sector, water, sanitation and infrastructure. 

 

Minister Kubuabola thanked ADB for the loan arrangement that allowed Fiji up to USD350 million at low interest rate financing over the next five years. 

 

Mr Nakao stated that ADB’s focus areas were directly relevant to Fiji especially on issues concerning environment and climate change. 

 

Minister Kubuabola reiterated that Fiji would be a strong voice for the Pacific Island Countries at the upcoming COP21 and looks forward to a positive outcome.

 

Minister Kubuabola also thanked ADB for the continuous engagement and support to Fiji.
