Permanent Secretary, Office of the Prime Minister, Immigration and Sugar Industry and Acting Permanent Secretary Foreign Affairs, Mr Yogesh Karan, this afternoon received a farewell courtesy call from the outgoing, Ambassador of the United States to Fiji, His Excellency Joseph James Cella.
PS Karan conveyed the Fijian Government’s appreciation to Ambassador Cella for his leadership and commitment towards advancing the bilateral relations between the United States, Fiji and the region.
He commended the remarkable support rendered by the United States Embassy in Fiji towards strengthening partnerships pursued in mutual areas of interests and cooperation.
PS Karan also conveyed the Fijian Government’s best wishes to Ambassador Cella for his future endeavors.
In response, Ambassador Cella thanked the Fijian Government for all the support provided to him during his tenure in Fiji.
Ambassador Cella said that it has been an honour, blessing and privilege serving as the United States Ambassador to Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Tonga, and Tuvalu. He reaffirmed the Embassy’s continued support towards advancing regional solidarity, peace and prosperity.
