The Republic of Cappuccino and ROC Market has gathered assistance to support Fiji’s response in tackling the COVID-19 second wave.
The owner of the Republic of Cappuccino and ROC Market and Suva Lawyer, Mr. Dilip Jamnadas has initiated a donation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) consisting of 20 infrared thermometers, 20 set of protective gowns and 500 protective face masks and 50 bottles of hand sanitizers.
Mr. Jamnadas said the assistance is provided in appreciation of the Fijian Government’s efforts to contain the COVID-19.
“We are pleased that after discussions with the Fiji Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we were able to have this assistance organised and support our nation during the pandemic.
Mr. Jamnadas also acknowledged Fiji’s frontline workers for their tremendous efforts in protecting the lives of Fijian families. He said accessibility to PPEs will assist the health care professionals as they carry out their role in delivering health care services to the nation.
Mr Jamnadas said that a multisectoral support and collaboration is needed at all levels to win the battle against COVID-19.
He added that the ROC Market which is a community-based marketing platform aspires to promote Fijian-Made products, crafted items and food.
“We remain focused on helping as many people as we can to generate local income streams, further creating support for the local circular economy.
“ROC Market is Fiji’s longest running street market – a feat we are all super proud of. Ms. Ellana Bickerdike does a great job running and managing this community based market which, helps to support the vendors and their family,” Mr. Jamnadas said.
Honourable Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete has thanked Mr. Jamnadas and his team for their generosity and timely assistance. He said a collaborative effort as such is commendable and imperative in overcoming the challenges triggered by COVID-19.
