Ties between Fiji and Georgia will strengthen this week with the arrival of the Georgian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alexander Khvtisiashvili, who lands in Fiji on Thursday 7 March for two days of high-level meetings and relationship-building.
During his stay, Minister Khvtisiashvili will be meeting with the Minister for Defence, National Security and Foreign Affairs, Hon. Inia Seruiratu, the Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Local Government, Housing and Community Development Hon. Premila Kumar and the Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.
Minister Khvtisiashvili is also expected to meet with representatives from the business sector, providing an opportunity for increased trade and investment between Fiji and Georgia.
A highlight of the visit will be the official signing of the Visa Free Agreement between the two countries, which will take place Thursday.
Fiji and Georgia first established diplomatic relations in March 2010.
