Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama, has conveyed a congratulatory message to the newly elected 31st Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia, Honourable Anthony Albanese MP, for the Australian Labor Party’s victory in the 2022 election.
He said that at a time of regional and global uncertainty, the Australian Labor Party’s success in the recent election demonstrates the confidence that Australians have in the leadership of Prime Minister Albanese and the Australian Labor Party’s vision to advance the nation.
He commended Prime Minister Albanese for his strong mandate on climate change and to ‘end the climate wars.’ Prime Minister Bainimarama said that he looks forward to working closely with Prime Minister Albanese and the Australian Government to advance Fiji–Australia relations through the Vuvale Partnership and to promote shared interests on the global stage.
He said that the unique relations between our two countries continue to strengthen as we confront and overcome the many challenges ahead.
The Prime Minister extended an invitation to Prime Minister Albanese to visit Fiji for the upcoming Pacific Islands Forum Leader’s meeting in Suva.
