Traditional Welcoming Ceremony Accorded To New Zealand Prime Minister

New Zealand’s Prime Minister Rt Honourable Christopher Luxon was accorded a traditional ceremony of welcome held yesterday evening at the Grand Pacific Hotel.

The Government delegation was led by the Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Sitiveni Rabuka, with cabinet ministers, members of Parliament and with members of diplomatic corps, also in attendance.

Prime Minister Luxon expressed his appreciation for the honour and hospitality accorded to him and his delegation as they undertake their 3 day visit to Fiji, starting today.

As part of the program, today, Prime Minister Luxon will meet with His Excellency the President, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, and have a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Honourable Sitiveni Rabuka.

This would be an opportunity to reflect and validate the ongoing cooperation encapsulated by the Duavata Partnership Agreement.

The Prime Ministers will also attend the Joint New Zealand-Fiji and Fiji-New Zealand Business Council Conference, a platform to boost the economy, trade and investment opportunities.
