Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka last night urged Fijians living in Japan to “carry the Fiji flag with pride and dignity.”
While addressing the Fiji community at the Fiji House at Shinagawa, Tokyo, he told those in attendance that it was important to maintain a good reputation wherever we live, whether at home or abroad.
“While you are here, you are also representing Fiji. Remember wherever you go, you are carrying the Fiji flag,” said Hon. Rabuka.
The Prime Minister also extended the best wishes of His Excellency the President, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, the Chiefs and Government of Fiji and its people to the diaspora in Japan, the “Land of the Rising Sun,” encouraging continued sucess in all their endeavors.
During the meeting, PM Rabuka highlighted his participation at the PALM10 Summit, saying it was an opportunity for Pacific Leaders and Japan to come together to discuss cooperation aligned with the 2050 Strategy for Blue Pacific Continent articulated by Pacific Leaders at their annual meeting in 2022.
PM Rabuka said PALM10 was also an opportunity to further strengthen the “kizuna” (bond) between Japan and Pacific nations.
In conclusion, Hon. Rabuka also provided an update on key development priorities undertaken by the Coalition Government since taking office 19 months ago.
Following the formal welcome and Talanoa, the community hosted the PM and his delegation to a farewell dinner.
