PM Rabuka thanks civil servants for their service to Fiji

Prime Minister Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka, on behalf of the people and the Government of Fiji, has extended our deepest sympathies to the people of Vanuatu who have been severely affected by the 7.3 magnitude earthquake earlier today.
The PM stated that he is saddened by the news of the earthquake which has claimed lives and devastated families in Vanuatu.
“I extend my sincere condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones, and I wish those injured a quick recovery,” conveyed the PM.
“We pray for the safe evacuation and well-being of all those affected by this disaster and we extend our deepest sympathies to those who have lost loved ones.”
On the same note, PM Rabuka commended the first responders and the people of Vanuatu who are helping their fellow citizens.
“I wish them well in their mammoth task, and also commend volunteer organisations, churches and religious bodies taking part in the rescue and evacuation effort to care for those affected,” he added.
The Prime Minister further stated that Fiji stands ready to help in whatever way it can.
