The Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Honorable Sitiveni Rabuka met with New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister, the Right Honorable Winston Peters in Nadi, Fiji this week.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss shared ️economic, security, and strategic priorities and explore ways to deepen bilateral cooperation and regional engagement, amidst the changing global dynamics.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka acknowledged the opportunity to meet and discuss ways to strengthen cooperation for the benefit of both nations and their peoples.
He also acknowledged the recent announcements regarding changes in New Zealand’s visa settings, that would ease the movement of people between the two nations.
In conclusion, the two leaders reaffirmed the strength of the Fiji–New Zealand partnership and its vital role in advancing stability and prosperity across the Pacific.
The meeting underscored Fiji and New Zealand’s commitment to advance economic growth, trade and investment, tourism, defence and security cooperation, people to people links, labour mobility.
