Prime Minister Rabuka on Official Visit to Singapore and Indonesia

The non-resident Ambassador of Chile to Fiji Her Excellency Manahi Pakarati during her visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) headquarters this week met with the Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Lenora Qereqeretabua and the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Dr Raijeli Taga.
The meeting highlighted the shared priorities and explored potential areas of collaboration between Fiji and Chile.
Hon. Qereqeretabua congratulated Ambassador Pakarati and conveyed best wishes for her tenure. She also welcomed the productive dialogue on the key opportunities for cooperation that can be pursued during Ambassador Pakarati’s term.
The Assistant Minister assured Ambassador Pakarati of the Ministry’s readiness to work closely with the Embassy of Chile in Wellington New Zealand.
Ambassador Pakarati expressed her sincere appreciation for the kind hospitality accorded to her during her visit to the Ministry and Fiji to engage into series of discussions aimed at enhancing Fiji-Chile engagements.
She noted Fiji’s commitment to women empowerment into leadership roles including foreign services, stating that both Hon. Qereqeretabua and Dr. Taga, are great inspiration and role models for women and girls. She said that gender equality is among the key shared values of cooperation between Fiji and Chile.
The meeting concluded with the reaffirmation by both sides to continue working closely in strengthening the friendship and collaboration between the two nations.
