Ministry conducts orientation training for new recruits

Training and capacity building is essential in the development of an efficient and competent workforce. As part of this commitment, the Ministry recently facilitated an orientation program for the new recruits to ensure they are well-equipped with the expertise and information on the Ministry’s overall operations and policy work including the key roles of Fiji’s Diplomatic Missions abroad.

The Ministry staff were grateful for the opportunity provided to network and gain valuable insights on the work of the Policy Bureaus and Divisions in advancing Fiji’s interests at the global, regional and national level.

The orientation provided them with an overview on Fiji’s Foreign Policy, including the bilateral and multilateral engagements pursued with global and regional partners. The presentations emphasized the significance of Fiji’s diplomatic relations and collaboration in driving Fiji’s national development, sustainable development goals, peace, security and prosperity. The interactive sessions enabled the staff to ask questions, seek information and share their perspectives.

The training program spearheaded by the Ministry’s Training Division is among the key initiatives undertaken to enhance capacity building and professional development of all staff, those serving at the headquarters and Fiji’s diplomatic missions abroad.

Additionally, the Ministry’s Training Division collaborates closely with the development partners and agencies to facilitate overseas scholarships and specialized training programs for the Ministry, to ensure that all staff have opportunity for continuous professional development, especially given their role in the advancement of Fiji’s Foreign services.

The Ministry acknowledges the Ministry of Civil Service and all the development partners along with the stakeholders for their continued collaboration and incredible con
