The Fiji Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) congratulates a cohort of 4 staff members among aspiring Pacific diplomats who, have today, successfully completed the 3rd cohort of the Pacific Diplomatic Training Programme, first 3 week – block training held in Wellington, New Zealand.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs takes this opportunity to congratulate its staff: Mrs. Rhoda Banner, Mr. Edwin Naidu, Ms. Vilimaina Nakalevu and Mr Luke Letewale for their commitment in successfully completing the first phase of the training and we wish them well as they prepare for phase 2.
The participants described the training as timely, informative and a vital opportunity to advance diplomatic tradecraft in the Pacific.
The initiative aims to advance foreign services through deepening of #bilateral and #multilateral cooperation within and beyond the Pacific region.
It underscores the New Zealand Government’s ongoing commitment to support Pacific diplomacy and strengthening cooperation with Pacific partners.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses sincere gratitude to the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (NZMFAT) for sponsoring this important initiative through its Manaaki Scholarships scheme managed by Education New Zealand (ENZ).
The Training Programme is developed and managed by Wellington Uni-Professional (WUPL) of Victoria University, Wellington, that provides professional development training.
The Programme was first piloted in October 2023, with six Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ staff having completed their 3-week block training in New Zealand and then 2-block training in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
