Fiji – Solomon Islands Relations

Formal diplomatic relations were    established on 28th July, 1978, when Solomon Islands became a sovereign country. Both countries have had a long history beginning with Fijian missionaries along with other Pacific Islands recruits sent to the Solomon Islands to spread the good word before and after the Second World War. In fact, to this day many Fijian missionaries are still present in the Solomon Islands assisting in community, religious and educational programmes.
