The Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Dr Lesi Korovavala was honoured to attend the “Friends of the Pacific Reception,” hosted by the Australian Embassy in Washington, D.C.
The event, held on the fringes of the US-Pacific Island Forum Leaders Summit, brought together dignitaries, representatives from the Partners in the Blue Pacific (PBP), distinguished Peace Corps Senior Staff and alumni fostering meaningful dialogue on critical Pacific issues.
This gathering served as a testament to the enduring partnerships and collaborative efforts in advancing the shared objectives of the Blue Pacific region.
Notable attendees included MCC CEO Albright, Sister Cities International, Deputy Assistant to the President Erika Moritsugu, East-West Center’s Suzy Varres-Lum, and ECA Exchange Alumni, among others. The “Friends of the Pacific Reception” provided a platform for networking and discussions on key regional matters, including climate change, sustainable development, and strengthening diplomatic ties. The event exemplified the spirit of cooperation, friendship, and shared responsibility that underpin the Pacific’s journey towards a sustainable and peaceful future.
