Planning, Policy and Research Division

The unit oversees the Planning, Policy, Research and Development (R&D), Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) arm of MFA. The unit provides and coordinates the required strategic and operational direction and focus of the MFA. It further ensures that the plans are filtered through MEL layers and strictly align to Government mandates and policies that are geared towards the churning of positive returns on investment.

The unit further identifies and provides timely policy advice and updates including R&D. It also coordinates support for parliament proceedings and will further establish the Statistics, Assessment and Service Excellence portfolios once manpower permits. The latter will focus on the improvement of processes and systems and the overall organisational quality, improvement and productivity.
