PM Rabuka receives warm welcome in Samoa

The Fijian diaspora in Samoa welcomed and met with Prime Minister, Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka, along the margins of the 2024 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
In acknowledging and thanking the Fijian community, PM Rabuka highlighted the urgency of addressing climate change, particularly in the Pacific Islands, which are at risk of being submerged, particularly Tuvalu.
He highlighted the importance of participating in conferences such as the Conference of the Parties (COP) and its role in addressing climate change impacts and where affected countries can seek international support.
PM Rabuka also recalled the Earth Summit in Rio in 1992, which led to the establishment of the COP.
Fiji’s Head of Government also emphasised the significance of collaborative approaches and acknowledged the need to maintain good relations.
