Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka this afternoon received a courtesy visit from the non-resident Ambassador of Israel to Fiji and the Pacific, His Excellency Roi Rosenblit.
The meeting provided an opportunity for PM Rabuka and Ambassador Roi to further discuss the opening of the Fiji Embassy in Jerusalem and also strengthen our diplomatic relations.
During the meeting, PM Rabuka expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to discuss issues of mutual interest and shared aspirations.
He also extended his appreciation to the government and the people of Israel for their continued support and cooperation over the years.
Prime Minister Rabuka also conveyed Fiji’s interest in ongoing collaborations for training, particularly in agriculture and renewable energy.
Ambassador Roi, in his response, thanked the Prime Minister for the warm hospitality accorded to him upon his arrival on Monday, adding his engagements for the past two days had been successful.
In conclusion, he reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties with Fiji, highlighting that the opening of Fiji’s embassy in Jerusalem is a testament to the strong relationship between the two nations.
