In a solemn ceremony at Nadi International Airport today, the Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka received the body of the late Fiji High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea, Brigadier-General (Ret’d) Mosese Tikoitoga.
Traditionally receiving the casket, Prime Minister Rabuka delivered a brief eulogy, honoring the late diplomat for his dedicated service and contributions to fostering bilateral ties between Fiji and Papua New Guinea.
The casket of the late High Commissioner Tikoitoga was accompanied by his spouse Mrs Jiu Tikoitoga, First Secretary at the Fijian High Commission in Papua New Guinea, along with members of the Fiji diaspora.
Among those present were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communications Hon. Manoa Kamikamica, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Lenora Qereqeretabua, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Mr. Lesikimacuata Korovavala, Permanent Secretary for the Civil Service Mr. Parmesh Chand, Fiji’s Roving Ambassador to the Pacific Island Countries and Territories and Agencies of the Council of Regional Organisations in the Pacific Mr. William Toganivalu, staff from the Papua New Guinea High Commission in Suva, as well as staff from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mr. Tikoitoga will be laid to rest on Friday.
