Fiji’s Prime Minister delivers address at the Traditional Ceremony of Welcome by MOFA

The Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Climate Change, Environment, Civil Service, Information, Public Enterprises Honourable Sitiveni Rabuka was today accorded a traditional welcoming ceremony by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Team (MFA) at the headquarters in Nasese, Suva.
Joining the Prime Minister Rabuka at the welcoming ceremony was the Assistant Minister for the Office of the Prime Minister Hon. Sakiusa Tubuna and the Acting Permanent Secretary Civil Service and Public Enterprises, Mr Parmesh Chand and Fiji’s Ambassador to Republic of Indonesia Mr. Amena Yauvoli.
The MFA Team welcomed Prime Minister Rabuka and accompanying officials to MFA headquarters. Joining virtually from their respective High Commissions and Embassies, abroad were Fiji’s High Commissioners, Ambassadors, and Fijian diplomats from New York, Geneva, London, Canberra, New Delhi, Wellington, Beijing, Abu Dhabi, Jakarta and Tokyo.
In his keynote address, Prime Minister Rabuka expressed his gratitude to all the diplomats for their role in representing Fiji’s interests through their respective Permanent Missions, High Commissions and Embassies. He acknowledged the staff of the Ministry as well for their work at the Ministry, to advance Fiji’s interest at the regional and global arena.
Prime Minister Rabuka emphasised the crucial role of the Fijian diplomats in promoting the best interests of our nation at the global map. He spoke on the importance of working in solidarity at all levels to promote the universal values of peace, unity and prosperity. He encouraged the Team to work diligently and serve the nation with loyalty and to the best of their abilities.
After the formalities, Prime Minister Rabuka and the accompanying officials toured the MFA office and had the opportunity to meet the MFA Team.
The MFA Team were grateful for the opportunity to provide an overview of the Ministry’s key roles and responsibilities.
