Sydney 14 October- Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has reiterated the importance of moving Fiji to economic development and prosperity.
While addressing members of the Fijian diaspora earlier this evening, Prime Minister Rabuka stressed the need for every Fijian to work together to collectively address socio-economic issues and geopolitical challenges. Upon arrival, the Prime Minister and his delegation were accorded a full traditional welcome ceremony. Prime Minister Rabuka is presently in Australia in his first Guest of Government visit on the invitation of Prime Minister Hon. Anthony Albanese.
The Head of the People’s Coalition Government took the opportunity to update those in attendance about the Coalition Government’s journey since taking oath last December, reassuring them of the nation’s economic growth and progress.
He also shed light on his participation at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, highlighting the significance of Fiji’s presence on the international stage. In this regard, the Prime Minister reiterated his commitment to fostering peace in the Pacific and throughout the world.
Additionally, Hon. Rabuka reflected on the success of the Fiji Day celebrations held throughout the country on Tuesday 10th October and the repatriation of the 200-plus Fijians and Pacific Island pilgrims onboard a chartered Fiji Airways flight on Thursday.
The Prime Minister encouraged the Fijian diaspora to invest back to Fiji as doing businesses has been made easier through digital platforms and access.
Prime Minister Rabuka thanked members of the Fijian Diaspora for their contributions to the economy back home and also in Australia.
