Fiji and United Kingdom advance to phase three of strategic communications partnership

The Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka received a courtesy call from the Non-Resident Ambassador of Serbia to Fiji, His Excellency Rade Stefanovic in his office today.
Discussions during the meeting focused on prospects for deeper cooperation in key sectors such as agricultural investment, climate change, renewable energy initiatives, defence and security.
Prime Minister Rabuka welcomed Ambassador Stefanovic to Fiji and discussed key areas of mutual interest, aimed at enhancing collaboration.
He acknowledged the 48 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations and remained optimistic that our cooperation will elevate to new levels.
In response, Ambassador Stefanovic reaffirmed Serbia’s commitment to deepen partnership with Fiji for the mutual benefit of both nations and its peoples.
He expressed his appreciation to Prime Minister Rabuka for the timely discussions on deepening meaningful cooperation between Fiji and Serbia.
The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Canberra, Australia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will work closely to further advance the relations between the two countries.
Fiji and Serbia established formal diplomatic relations in 1976.
