
Rokoseru Nabalarua appointed Honorary Consul of Israel in Fiji

The Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Raijeli Taga received a courtesy call from the Ambassador of the Indonesia to Fiji, H.E Dupito Simamora, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters in Suva.
During the meeting, Dr. Taga acknowledged the mutual collaboration between Fiji and Indonesia, particularly in the implementation of development projects at community and national level. She stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to work collaboratively with the Indonesian Embassy in Suva and Fiji’s Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia to further advance the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two nations.
The meeting highlighted that this year marks a milestone – 51 years of diplomatic relations between Fiji and Indonesia, signifying the strength of the enduring partnership.
The discussions also elaborated the prospects to deepen engagements in key areas of development including climate change, agriculture, fisheries, health, education, housing, security, trade and investment, and labour mobility.
As part of its support to Fiji, Indonesia is assisting in the development of the Regional Training Center and Demonstration Farm at Dobuilevu Research Station, in the Province of Ra. This initiative aims to support the agricultural development and sustainable livelihood within the rural communities.
In his remarks, Ambassador Simamora expressed optimism that the cooperation between the two nations will continue to strengthen, as we mark the remarkable 51 years of diplomatic cooperation this year.
