Prominent business leader Mr Rokoseru Nabalarua has been appointed the Honorary Consul of the State of Israel in the Republic of Fiji.
Mr Nabalarua received his certificate of appointment from the Israel Ambassador to Fiji and the Pacific, H.E Roi Rosenblit in the presence of the Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka on Wednesday, 12th March 2025.
The appointment marks a significant step in complementing the strong relations between Fiji and Israel including the forthcoming establishment of Fiji’s Embassy in Jerusalem.
In presenting the certificate of appointment to Mr. Nabalarua, Ambassador Rosenblit congratulated and wished him well in his new role.
In response, Mr Nabalarua expressed gratitude for the appointment, reaffirming his commitment to delivering his role to the best of his abilities in strengthening the bilateral relations and mutual collaboration between the two nations.
Mr Nabalarua also thanked Ambassador Rosenblit for his unwavering dedication to enhancing the cooperation between Fiji and the State of Israel.
Mr Nabalarua has served at numerous leadership roles and is a prominent figure within Fiji’s business community.
As advised in the recent Cabinet decision, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the Ministry of Defense, will undertake necessary assessments through consultation with relevant agencies, prior to and during the establishment of Fiji’s Embassy in Israel.
Fiji and Israel’s diplomatic relations was established in 1970, and the two nations have forged partnerships in the areas of security and peacekeeping, agriculture, education, and climate change.
