Fiji’s Minister for Defence, National Security and Foreign Affairs, Honourable Inia Seruiratu, exchanged congratulatory messages with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Honourable Sergey Lavrov in recognition of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Fiji and the Russian Federation.
In exchange of the messages last week, Minister Seruiratu conveyed the best wishes of the Fijian Government and the people of Fiji to the government and people of Russian Federation for its commitment to friendship and diplomatic relations shared between the two nations.
Minister Seruiratu emphasised that Fiji and Russia have established diplomatic collaboration that continues to grow and as the new Minister for Foreign Affairs, he will aspire to take Fiji-Russia collaborations to greater heights.
Minister Lavrov in his message said that over the last decades a solid groundwork for the on-going development of the whole range of the Russian-Fijian ties has been laid through joint efforts. He is confident that the accumulated experience will contribute to further development of bilateral cooperation for the benefit of both the nations and continue to serve in the interests of strengthening security in the Asia Pacific region.
