The Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Lenora Qereqeretabua and the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Sivendra Michael met with key leaders from governments, non-government organisations, philanthropy, and Small Island Developing States (SIDS) on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly in New York today (27.09.24).
They met to discuss strategies to unlock financing geared towards enhancing nature conservation, sustainable development, and climate resilience for Island nations.
Present amongst the many experts were former NZ Prime Minister, Dame Jacinda Arden and Chief Investment Officer, at the Green Climate Fund, Mr Henry Gonzalez who led discussions on strengthening partnerships.
