On behalf of their Diplomatic Missions and Agencies in Fiji, the diplomatic corps signed a Condolence Book at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Suva dedicated to the remembrance of the late High Commissioner of the Republic of Fiji to the Independent State of Papua New Guinea (PNG), His Excellency Mosese Tikoitoga.
The Heads of Missions in Fiji, expressed their heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the families, friends and colleagues of the late High Commissioner Tikoitoga.
The Chargé d’affaires of the Papua New Guinea (PNG) High Commission, Mr Bill Olmi met in person with the Permanent Secretary for the Foreign Affairs, Dr Lesikimacuata Korovavala and conveyed the deepest condolences of the Government of PNG and its people on the passing away of High Commissioner Tikoitoga.
He said “the late High Commissioner Tikoitoga was a diplomat with unwavering commitment and served his nation with pride and passion, a diplomat with outstanding qualities and a great friend of Papua New Guinea. His leadership, and dedication contributed to the deepening of Fiji’s relations with PNG and the Pacific region.”
The late High Commissioner Tikoitoga was a charismatic, and remarkable professional military leader, having risen to the highest position of Commander of the RFMF in a distinguished career that covered the military and public service for more than 35 years.
His spirit of teamwork and tenacity will be remembered by those that worked with him.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
